Well Howdeeeee do dee Tumblr. It’s been a while since I last wrote anything on Tumblr, so now this is my chance while I have some free time, to spell out what is on my mind, through my fingers, on to the keyboard and out on Tumblr. As I was on the GO bus after I got off the phone with Matt and our enjoyable conversation about our day, I hopped on to Twitter. On Twitter, I noticed a post about Occupy Toronto. That was the second time I heard about Occupy Toronto. The first time was earlier that day in my Globalization class. Reading the post, it got me thinking. Why is it that so many Canadians, including myself are so uninformed/unconcerned with what is going on in our own country, our own province, our own city? I realized I should shed the guilt I felt because others weren’t informed enough either. So i’ll fill in those that don’t really know. Occupy Toronto, consists of a group of protestors, in Toronto. CBC News, says “The movement is driven by a handful of different issues, including addressing corporate greed and economic disparity.” The great thing about Occupy Toronto is that they are not focusing on just one issue, they are focusing on a bunch of issues, problems and concerns. A girl in my class was addressing how it is actually a very organized protest, people are able to camp out, its functional. So why don’t more people know about this? Why aren’t more people involved? I really don’t know how you get someone interested in a thing like this, I just know that I need to inform myself a whole lot more before I can do or say anything more. Thats all for now. Time to watch 27 dresses and paint my nails a pretty lilac colour. -A
